BMX- Challenge

I want to deeply dive into hard surface modeling where smaller details does not only help tell the stories, but also makes sense to the viewer. I decided to take Hard Surface Modeling course by JLMussi. BMX - Challenge was a perfect project to improve my skillset. It helped me to refresh my knowledge and explore more functions in Maya Modeling Tool Sets. Beside the instruction tutorials, I am responsible for modeling, UVs and texturing.

BMX- Working Process

The project was broken down into small parts to be completed every week. The goal was to match the original concept and maintain the good edges flow. Here are some examples of the block out that were done in Maya.

After being happy with the block out, I moved on to UVs and first pass texturing.

To help tell the story better, I decided to upgrade my UV mapping and went back into Substance Painter with more dirt, wear and tear details on the bike. Here is the final product.
